Hawaii -

Weather conditions

There are only two seasons in Hawaii: summer, lasting from May to October; and winter, from November to April. Summer daytime temperatures average around 85 degrees Fahrenheit while winter temperatures are slightly lower at around 78 degrees.

Rain can often spoil a vacation so it’s a good thing it rains mostly on the mountains and in the valleys on the northeastern side of the islands. The wettest months are November through March but that still does not deter tourist from visiting during this time.

Hawaii

There’s more to Hawaii than pineapples and hula skirts. With six islands to explore (Hawaii’s Big Island, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, Oahu, and Kauai) the Pacific’s paradise offers more than its share of breathtaking views. Take the many volcanoes that helped make up the islands, some of which are still active. That’s not the reasons locals are shaking in their skirts though. Hula dancing is Hawaii’s bread and butter. Nobody can shake it like these girls or guys for that matter. But you’re better off saving that for the luau at night. During the day, a trip to historic Pearl Harbor, where on December 7, 1941 the Japanese raided America for the first time. Before the attack the United States had planned on staying out of World War II.

Until September 11, 2001 it was also the only time American soil had been raided by a foreign country. Hawaii was annexed to the United States in 1898 and became a state territory in 1900. Fifty-nine year later, Hawaii the 50th US state. Suddenly, the small group of islands was a hot tourist destination, putting Hawaii on the map for the whole United States.

Tourist attractions

Beach, beaches, and beaches. Those are what make Hawaii such a hot spot. Of course aquariums, zoos, museums, oceanfront bars, and other attractions are available across the different islands. Many choose to scuba dive off the islands and it’s not a bad choice at all. Your sense will overload from the abundance of colorful tropical fish and underwater volcanoes. Top it off with a walk on a black sand beach in Punalu’u, about halfway between Volcano and Na’alehu on the southern part of the Big Island of Hawaii. Surfing is also a big past time in Hawaii. It’s definitely a state of surf and sand.

But if water isn’t your thing, don’t worry. The Island also offers horseback riding and skydiving. The island of Oahu has the only licensed stable for horseback riding. You can go through forests, over mountains, and past wild orchards as well as seeing dazzling ocean views. There are also several hiking trails that go deep into the heart of the Island. The best way to see the Island though is by helicopter. Ask around about tours. You won’t be disappointed.

Hawaii is a huge destination wedding spot. For many, it’s the perfect setting for their perfect day. It also makes for an easy honeymoon, for first timers or those looking to rekindle their fire.
