 • Pipestem Creek 9 miles south on Highway 281, 1 mile east on Highway 9, Carrington. Manufacturer of hand-made SunFlorals (exquisite natural floral wreaths) and SunFeeders (edible birdfeeders and birdhouses). Summer tours include extensive gardens, drying and production facilities and gift shop. There are three renovated granaries and a train depot. There is a gift shop in a restored 10-sided granary. Open year-round, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and they have extended hours in the summer and fall. Open evenings and weekends by appointment. Guided tours welcome by reservation. Carrington is the county seat of Foster County, in the north central portion of North Dakota. It has a population of 2,268 people.

Activities

Hiking on the Hawks Nest Ridge, 6 miles west on Highway 200, 7 1/2 miles south, Carrington. Highest point in a short ridge of glacial moraine hills rises 800 feet above the surrounding prairie.
